Lynn Steiner #3 - Finished

Paint job is complete and I am relatively happy with the result. There are some bits of the figure that I am unhappy with such as the facial tones and some of the black highlights, but that is something I hope to correct with the next figure. This was my first time using the VMC (Vallejo Model Colour) skin tones set and I was a little spoilt for choice when compared to the limited GW range I was using before.

I am extremely happy with the base, and the theme of dark slate with autumn leaf will remain consistent for the whole war band, no snow this time as almost all my old projects had snow of some form and I wanted to practice something new, to help improve my skill set. I was a little apprehensive with the colours, but by the time I had completed the final highlight and given it a wash, the result proved acceptable.

The best thing about completing this figure, is I have made myself aware of some issues I need to work on (again the skin tones) which I had previously thought myself good at, its all in the (re) learning and I enjoy the challenge of expanding knowledge. A full photo shoot is planned for some time next week, I have some nice printed backgrounds all ready a tent, as well as the lights, tent and of course a decent camera. I just need to figure out how to get the best out of it all.

Next up is Deimon, the personal butler of Lynn Steiner, I should be able to make a start on him today and get the initial paint work by tomorrow, I will start working on an Anima Tactics gallery for the blog as well, to accommodate the new figures. It will be nice as it has been some time since I have added fully painted miniatures to the blog.
