Warzone: Mishima Previews & Figures

The more I see, the more I like! It has been a very quiet summer for me as I continue waiting on my massive order from Prodos Games. Initially kickstarter contributors were given an end of June/August time frame for delivery, but due to a number of third party issues - Rule books and cards printing, there is now no confirmed time frame-which is worrying. And this presents one of the glaring issues I have with Kickstarter Projects as a whole, as mentioned before I have passed on such big projects like Sedition Wars and Kingdom Death, simply because of the delivery times involved and the fact that money is taken before setbacks can even manifest (a lot can happen to a company in 1 year good and bad), but the one saving grace of Prodo's Kickstarter, is the great communication they have shown during and after their Kickstarter. Even with the delays, products do exist and have been shown on a regular basis, and more importantly for me I continue to grow more interested in the product with every update.

Prodos Games have been more than generous with information, a strange thing for people who may be more used to the clandestine GW method of promoting product, and this even boils down to personal communication; I have emailed Prodos a number of times with random queries and received responses within a couple of hours, always with a positive attitude. These people love the product they are involved in and are focusing on the number the all important customer service without the arrogant undertones of GW fanaticism. Anyways onward to the pictures! Today I will be showing the Mishima renders for the Meka (walker), Hatamoto (Elite Heavy Infantry) and casts of the Ronin Samurai.

New Project: Dark Angels

Hello on a slightly cooler sat afternoon! Two weeks ago I let slip that I had plans for a new 40K project, leading up to a full 1500 points army list. All the items I was waiting for have now arrived and work has begun, the new project is a 'contemporary' Dark Angels army. I have gone the way of the triple wing, including Deathwing Terminators, Ravenwing Bikers and of course standard Dark Angels marines. The inspiration to start this army actually came after playing Dawn Of War 2 with the DLC Dark Angel content - something I tend to do during dry periods of hobby.

Site News: back Into The Fray With More New Projects

And we are back! The last three weeks have been a bit of annoyance, with both Lorna and I coming down with seasonal flu. It is quite disheartening to see how nice the weather is outside but being  unable to enjoy it, and as a repercussion not much hobby has been done. Now that the flu has passed, we find we have a new enemy and again it is the nice weather! With it being so bright and hot, it has been too much of temptation to go out with the dog as opposed to sweating away at the paint table, but despite this I have somehow found myself able to squeeze in a new 40K project. As has been mentioned in previous posts, I have not found an army that I am comfortable with, both in terms of gaming and painting, there has been a real lack of variety that has caused me to lose steam with projects such as my Nurgle Daemons, Minotaur's Space Marines and Pre-Heresy Dark Angels. Part of the problem I feel is...I have seen it all before, 25 years painting the same products can get start to lose some of its allure.

However I feel I may have found the solution, sometimes a little impulse buying can be the start of something really good and this week I think I may have bought into something with a little longevity. I will share the details next week, as I have guests this afternoon; perhaps via a youtube video; but I am quite excited with the progress I have made so far in the last two days. I do have a 1500pts list written up and all the models are either here or are en route.

Looking forward to sharing more toy soldier news with you all soon.

New Warhammer Forge Releases

Forge World/Warhammer Forge have two new pre-orders up for Warhammer Fantasy.

First is the lovely Empire Command set shown off at various conventions. This is a three figure set including champion, standard bearer and flagellant. While I would wish for an accompanying unit complete with face guards, I know that will never happen due to the focus on Horus Heresy, but one can dream can't they? The empire Command Set is available for pre-order now and is priced at £30.00 with a shipping date of the 26th July LINK

Second on the release schedule is the Dreadmaw, filling another monstrous unit option for the Monstrous Arcanum book. The Dreadmaw is up for pre-order now and has a shipping date of  the 26th July and is priced at £52.00 LINK
